How to Get Back Into Your Account After Email Rename (Summer 2021)

As part of a project to streamline CBC email accounts, your CBC email address is changing to match the CBC naming convention. The change will also necessitate your password to be reset. You should have received an email with the date when this change is happening to your account.

This article contains important instructions on how to get back into your account after this change.

After the date of change, please follow these steps to get back into your account:

1.    Log on to this MyCBC page with your SID and PIN:
2.    Once logged in, note your new email address (see screenshot below):

3. Click “Forgot your password?” link to reset your password:

4. Provide the captcha characters and click “Next”

5. Select “I forgot my password” and click “Next”:

6. Follow the prompts to reset your password. Depending on what you provided originally when you set up your account, you can reset your password by either texting a code to your mobile phone, calling your phone or sending the code to your personal email address:

Note: if you've never logged in to your email account before and haven't set up your phone/alternate email, you will not be able to proceed to reset your password. If this is the case, you will need to contact us at and we can reset your password.

7. Once you’ve verified your account and reset your password, go back to MyCBC and click “Login to Your Student Email” link to log in to your email. Make sure to use your new email address and password to log in:

8. If you are able to log in successfully, you are done!

Additional Notes and Common Issues

  • If someone sends you an email to your old address, you will still receive it. However, you will need to use your new address to log in to your email.
  • It may take up to 24 hours for the change to completely sync across systems. If you use Microsoft Office applications or a mail app on your phone, it may still show your old email address. That is normal. Please wait a few hours, sign out and sign back in to your applications. It may take a few retries, but eventually, it will let you in and show your new email address. You may have to remove the email account from your phone app and add it back in with the new email.
