Signing into Canvas Learning Management System

Overview

Canvas is the learning management system (LMS) for Columbia Basin College. Online and hybrid classes use Canvas courses to present content and provide access to learning activities like assignments, projects, quizzes, and exams. Most face-to-face classes use Canvas for posting information, assignment submissions, posting grades, and so on. Using Canvas requires you to sign into the LMS.

Sign into Canvas

• The sign-in screen is located at: https://cbc.instructure.com (Columbia Basin College Canvas Sign-In Page).
• The sign-in process uses single sign-on (SSO).
• For your username, enter your full CBC student email address. Be sure to include @students.columbiabasin.edu.
• For your password, use your CBC student email password.
• If you have forgotten your password, use the Forgot Password link on the sign-in page or CBC Microsoft Online Password Reset (www.columbiabasin.edu/resetpassword)
• If you continue to have trouble signing in, call the Student Help Desk at 509-543-1145 or email shelp@columbiabasin.edu. You can also visit the Student Help Desk located in the CBC Library (Pasco Campus).

Check Your Default Email in Canvas

Once inside, make sure your default email address is set to your CBC student email address. To protect your information and your privacy, CBC can only contact you regarding Canvas, your courses, or other college-related matters using your CBC student email address; we cannot contact you via any personal email address about college-related matters.
