Adjusting Language, Reading Speed, and Pauses
Adjusting How Much Text TextAid Reads at a Time
Click the Expand Menu button if the menu is not expanded. Click the Reading Settings button. Change the reading voice by choosing from the drop-down menu at top. Open the drop-down list and select a voice from the choices.
Drag the slider on the Reading Speed bar to speed the reading voice up or slow it down. Note that 100% is the default (i.e., “normal”) reading speed. A percentage less than 100% will slow it down; a percentage greater than 100% will speed it up. The greatest reading speed is 200%, or twice as fast as the default speed. Drag the indicator to the right to increase the speed of text reading or to the left to slow down the reading rate.
Drag the slider on the Pause Between Words bar to adjust the length of pauses between words. Set the pause between words by dragging the indicator to the left to shorten it or lengthen the pause by dragging to the right.
Press Play to hear a sample of text to preview your new voice settings. Want to reset the reading settings? Simply click the Reset to Defaults button.
