Duo Mobile App Sign-Up
Please note, these instructions are to setup Duo Mobile. If you meant to select for assistance setting up Duo to call your phone instructions, please go here:
Once you are enrolled in Duo, you will eventually get a popup asking you to complete your enrollment by adding a device:
After clicking the “Next” button, it will require you to “Next” through a couple screens describing about Duo. Then you will get to the “Select an option” screen. To use the Duo App (Recommended) please select Duo Mobile:
On this next screen, it will ask you to enter your phone number:
Once entered, select the “Add phone Number” button to get to the next screen. It will ask you to confirm the number entered is correct. If it is, select the “Yes, it’s correct” button. If you need to change it, select the “No, I need to change it” underlined link.
After confirming the number is correct, the next screen will have Duo call you to confirm you have the device. Press the “Call my phone” button.
Duo will call your phone and a Passcode Sent window will appear. Enter the 6-digit passcode given in the call and select the Verify button.
You are selecting to use the Duo Mobile app, now the screens will direct you to the appropriate store to install the app on the device you are adding. (App Store for iPhone / Google Play for Android) Click the highlighted link on the screen to go to the appropriate store and install the Duo Mobile app.

Once Duo Mobile app is installed on your phone, press the “Next” button on your screen.
On the next screen, you scan the QR barcode with your phone and the app will activate automatically. Alternatively, you can request an activation link to be emailed to you (see below) by selecting the link and on the next screen adding an email address you would like the activation code emailed too.. Once your phone is enrolled it will bring you to a confirmation screen where you can continue to login.
Scan QR Code in Duo App just installed
- Open Duo Mobile app
- Click +Add
- Use QR Code
- Scan QR with camera of phone (Please Note: The QR Code below will not enroll your device, you need to use the screen that shows up at this step once Duo enrollment has started.)
Duo will screen will now confirm you have added Duo Mobile, select the "continue" button
Select “Skip for now” on the add another way to login screen.
Initial Setup is now complete, time to “Log in with Duo”
Your phone should have received a notification in the new Duo app and you will have a screen prompting you to verify
In the Duo Mobile app on your phone, select the green approve button to verify it is you logging in
You have successfully enrolled your device into Duo and completed your first verification/authentication with Duo. You will get one more window here, asking if you wish to stay signed in? If you are opening say your email on your PC you use daily you may wish to select Yes to reduce the number of times it will require you to sign in on this device.
The app you were trying to access should now open.
