Setup Duo to call your phone

Please note, these instructions are to have Duo call a phone for you to verify it is you instead of using the Duo Mobile app.

  • If you choose this option, it is recommended you reach out to TS to provide us a second phone number to add so you have more than one number for Duo to call to verify/authenticate with Duo.

Once you are enrolled in Duo, you will eventually get a popup asking you to complete your enrollment by adding a device:

 

After clicking the “Next” button, it will require you to “Next” through a couple screens describing about Duo.  Then you will get to the “Select an option” screen.

To have Duo call a phone (cell phone (recommended) or office phone) please select "Phone Number":

 

On this next screen, it will ask you to enter your phone number. In addition to adding your phone, if this is a landline (Office/Home Phone), please be sure to check the box next to “This is a landline” so the Duo system knows. If it is a cell phone, leave the box unchecked. Than press the "Add phone number" button.

 

If you selected this is a landline, the next screen will want to confirm if you need to add an extension. If this is a CBC office phone, you can skip this step.

 

Duo will ask you to confirm the number entered is correct. If it is, select the “Yes, it’s correct” button. If you need to change it, select the “No, I need to change it” underlined link.

 

After confirming the number is correct, Duo will let you know you added the phone and request to continue.

 

Duo will ask If you want to add another way to log in? You can select “Skip for now” on the add another way to log in screen.

 

 

Initial Setup is now complete, time to “Log in with Duo”

 

 

After you select to “Log in with Duo” the call me screen will appear. Select the “Call Phone” button

 

Duo will call the phone you added to authenticate, please answer the call, you will hear similar to the following...

  • Duo Automated Voice: Welcome to Duo, if you were not expecting this call please hang up. Otherwise, press any key to log in.
  • User Interaction: Press a key on the phone
  • Duo Automated Voice: Thank you, Good bye! (The call ends)

After you press any button while on the call, the next screen will confirm if this is your phone only. Select “Yes, this is my device”.

 

You have successfully enrolled your Phone into Duo and completed your first verification/authentication with Duo. (Please remember it is recommended to reach out to TS to add a second number to your account for back up authentication.)

 

You will get one more window here, asking if you wish to stay signed in? If you are opening say your email on your PC you use daily you may wish to select Yes to reduce the number of times it will require you to validate it is you on this device.

The app you were trying to access should now open.
