This article explains how to export and import your browser bookmarks to and from an HTML file. This is useful when switching computers or browsers. When backing up your bookmarks, we recommend saving to your P:\ drive.
Jump to:
Export to HTML
- Click the menu button
to open the menu panel. Click and then click the bar at the bottom.
- In the toolbar of the Library window click and choose from the drop-down menu.
- In the Export Bookmarks File window that opens, choose a location to save the file, give the file a name you’ll remember, and choose Save (we recommend saving to your P:\ drive).

Your bookmarks are now successfully exported from Firefox.
Import from HTML
- Click the menu button
to open the menu panel. Click and then click the bar at the bottom.
- In the toolbar of the Library window click and choose Import from the drop-down menu.
- In the Import Bookmarks File window that opens, go to the location where you saved your HTML bookmarks file, select it, and click Open.
- Your imported bookmarks will be placed under All Bookmarks > Bookmarks Menu.

Your bookmarks are now successfully imported to Firefox
Export to HTML
- At the top right, select More
> Bookmarks and lists > Bookmark manager.
- At the top, select More
> Export bookmarks.
- In the Save As window that opens, choose a location to save the file, give the file a name you’ll remember, and choose Save (we recommend saving to your P:\ drive).

Your bookmarks are now successfully exported from Chrome.
Import from HTML
- At the top right, select More
> Bookmarks and lists > Bookmark Manager.
- At the top, select More
> Import bookmarks.
- In the Open window that opens, go to the location where you saved your HTML bookmarks file, select it, and click Open.
- Your imported bookmarks will be placed in your Bookmarks bar.

Your bookmarks are now successfully imported to Chrome.
Export to HTML
- Open the Settings and more menu by selecting … in the upper-right corner of the window.
- Select Favorites.
- Open the More options menu by selecting … above the list of favorited websites.
- Select Export favorites.
- In the Save As window that opens, choose a location to save the file, give the file a name you’ll remember, and choose Save (we recommend saving to your P:\ drive).

Your bookmarks are now successfully exported from Edge.
Import from HTML
- Open the Settings and more menu by selecting … in the upper-right corner of the window.
- Select Favorites.
- Open the More options menu by selecting … above the list of favorited websites.
- Select Import favorites.
- In the Settings tab that opens, go to Import browser data now and select Import.
- In the dropdown menu under Import from, select Favorites or bookmarks HTML file.
- Select Choose file.
- In the Open window that opens, go to the location where you saved your HTML bookmarks file, select it, and click Open.
- Your bookmarks will be placed in your Favorites.

Your bookmarks are now successfully imported to Edge.
