Activate Using Existing SID

Purpose:  As we transition to ctcLink, the SID numbers we used previously will no longer be needed, but instead, you will be using an Employee ID, which is noted in the system as ctcLink ID.  When you activate your ctcLink Account, this is something important to keep in mind.  Your new ctcLink ID is going to appear and it is something you need to write down/note/memorize for your use.  You won’t be issued a separate document by SBCTC or CBC and having the ctcLink ID available for future use/reference is important when you get to Step 18 of the Activate Your ctcLink Account process.  

Audience:  All Employees

 

  1. Note:  Your new ctcLink ID isn’t accessible in a “lookup” or other retrievable screen and must be formally requested through the Human Resources Office.  Setting and remembering your password is important too!

  2. Navigate to the ctcLink Sign In page (https://gateway.ctclink.us) or (https://myaccount.ctclink.us/)
  3. Select the Activate Your Account link

  1. Select the OK button when the redirection pop up message displays.
  2. The Activate Your Account page displays.
  3. Enter your First Name and Last Name. Please make sure you have entered your name correctly, as it reads on your Social Security card or Passport.
  4. Enter your Date of Birth (MM/DD/YYYY) as shown or use the calendar icon.
  5. From the drop-down menu select:
    • SID (old) if you are a current or returning student or employee.
  6. Enter your SID.
  7. Select the Submit button.

Set Your Password

  1. The Set Your Password page displays. This page is used to set up your password and your account recovery options. Please enter your preferred Email address.
  2. Select the Security Question from the drop-down menu.
  3. Provide the Answer to your security question.
  4. Additional Account Recovery options located in the Account Recovery box.
    1. Enter Phone Number for text (SMS) option.
    2. Enter Phone Number for voice option.

  1. Create your Password. (At least 8 characters, including at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter and one number. Special characters may be used but are not required.)
  2. Confirm your Password.
  3. Select the Submit button.
  1. A pop-up message displays.
  2. Make note of your ctcLink ID. Make sure you write this down! It will disappear after you click OK.
  3. Select the OK button.

  1. The Account Activation confirmation message displays.
  2. Close the browser tab.

Note:  Please close your browser before attempting to log in to ctcLink.

Note:  When prompted to close your browser(s), make sure to close ALL browsers completely for update to take place.

Activate Using ctcLink ID

Note:  Setting and remembering your password and ctcLink ID is important!

  1. Navigate to the ctcLink Sign In page (https://gateway.ctclink.us) or (https://myaccount.ctclink.us/)
  2. Select the Activate Your Account link

  2. The Activate Your Account page displays.

    • ctcLink ID (new) as a new employee.
  6. Enter your ctcLink ID.
  7. Select the Submit button.

  2. Select the Security Question from the drop-down menu.
  3. Provide the Answer to your security question.
  4. Additional Account Recovery options located in the Account Recovery box.
